Border BioBlitz at Tijuana Slough NWR

Let’s celebrate California Biodiversity Day together! The San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Audubon Society, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and naturalist Hector Valtierra will be leading a bilingual (Spanish and English) in-person bioblitz event on Saturday, September 7 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am to record the biodiversity found at Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge. The challenge is to find and document 30 wild species as part of an initiative to help achieve the conservation of 30% of California’s lands and coastal waters by 2030. No prior experience is necessary, but an RSVP is highly encouraged. Sign up by emailing Park Ranger Nancy Fernandez at Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov. We will be meeting at the trail entrance by Iris Ave (1480 5th St, Imperial Beach, CA 91932). During the event, we will be using the iNaturalist app/website.
