Helping Hands for America's Lands ... Be part of a national celebration of public lands across the country! Individuals, groups, families, neighbors, youth, co-workers, relatives -- everyone is welcome. Volunteers of all ages are invited to gather at the PWLC to participate in this hands-on initiative to improve the prairie habitat. We will be hand-harvesting ripe prairie seeds to use in the greenhouse and for restoration projects next year. You can come for the whole time or pop in any time for part of it, your choice. This year's theme is Giving Back Together.
All materials and training are provided. Please call 218-998-4480 to sign up. Children and youth need to be accompanied by an adult (not a drop-off program).
It's the perfect opportunity to give back to the community or to pay it forward. To encourage people to join in and visit their public lands, NPLD is a fee-free day for all federal public lands and many state parks. Participating in this 29th annual NPLD is a great way to get the recommended 60 minutes of daily activity, while you lend a hand for public lands, ensuring they continue to be beautiful places for all to enjoy. National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. For more information, please visit the National Public Lands Day web site for the complete NPLD story.
