Nature Photography Day!

Calling all nature photographers! Grab your camera and join us on Saturday, June 11 at Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate Nature Photography Day. Although the event normally falls each year on June 15, we are too excited to wait!

Local photographer and refuge volunteer Johnny Bradley and park ranger Nancy Fernandez will guide participants on established refuge trails where there will be many opportunities to photograph wildlife with the occasional stop to practice landscape photography. Although all skill levels are welcomed to attend this free workshop, we will mainly be focusing on a beginner skill level.

Be prepared to walk about 4 miles round trip starting at the visitor center trail head and heading south. Then we will return to the parking lot and drive to the beach area parking lot where we will park and walk down the beach to photograph beach scenes and wildlife.

Don’t have a DSLR camera? We will have a few for you borrow but please let us know in advance if you need one. We will be meeting at the Tijuana Estuary visitor center parking lot at 8:00 am. The workshop will run until about 11:30 am. Space is limited, sign up today! Email Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov
