Ways to Get Involved

Volunteering

The hatchery uses volunteers year-round, but need the most help from May through September to help with spawning, fish culture, outreach activities, and facilities projects. Come for a day or stay for the summer at one of the two RV pads with full hookups! If staying rent-free in Leadville for the summer while providing ~20 hours/week of assistance to the hatchery sounds enjoyable apply through volunteer.gov or contact the hatchery directly.

Our Partners

If you want to be involved with the hatchery, consider joining our Friends group!  The group is a 501c3 private non-profit organization and membership is free, it is a great way to stay involved.  The mission of the group is to support the Leadville National Fish Hatchery and its historical significance, promote conservation ethics through education, improve outdoor recreational opportunities, and enhance the facilities for community events.

Visit the Friends site to join or learn more about the organization.
