Fish Viewing
Adult tule fall Chinook salmon can be viewed from late August through September in outdoor raceways. They can also be seen returning up the fish ladder during this time. Spawning takes place September 15-30. The newly fertilized eggs are moved to our Incubation Building where they are not available for viewing. Juvenile salmon are moved to outdoor raceways in late December. They can be viewed January through April. We release our salmon smolts directly into the Columbia River in mid-April. After that, we have no fish on station until they return the following August as adults.
