A biosphere reserve is a site within the international Man and the Biosphere Program. The program, run by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), recognizes biosphere reserves for their value in conservation and in providing the scientific knowledge, skills and human values to support sustainable development.
Aleutian Islands Biosphere Reserve includes the Aleutian Islands Unit of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge.
Carolinian-South Atlantic Biosphere Reserve includes Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refuge, Wolf Island National Wildlife Refuge and Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge.
Golden Gate Biosphere Reserve includes Farallon Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
