An adult Pacific lamprey

An adult Pacific lamprey attaches itself to a rock in San Luis Obispo Creek. The species returned to the creek in 2017 after a six-year absence. “Before we moved forward with reintroduction, they came back by themselves, saving time and money,” said Damon Goodman, biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
