In 1991 forty-three percent of all freshwater anglers in the United States fished for black bass. In this report we present and discuss black bass fishing in the United States and the characteristics of black bass anglers. The data used for this presentation come from the 1991 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation. All data represent anglers 16 years of age and older who fished in the United States during 1991.
