Breakdown of fecal material demonstrated in an Imhoff cone.jpg

Fecal material was collected from the experiment tanks and tested to determine friability of the material. If the solids held together well, there were more larger, pieces. The larger the pieces the less leaching of phosphorous occurs. The solids as a percentage of the whole sample can be measured in the Imhoff cone.
