Eddie LeRoy (1965- )
Eddie LeRoy’s father was stationed in Germany where he met and married Eddie’s mother. The family returned to his hometown of Eufaula, Alabama in 1975. Eddie’s early art career began when he studied the wildlife artists featured in journals such as Outdoor Life and Field & Stream. His first commissioned painting was at age 14 when he was asked to paint a picture of a yacht. His early waterfowl idols were Maynard Reece and David Maass. Eddie graduated from Eufaula High School and then enrolled in the Art Institute of Atlanta and began a career as an illustrator. Eddie began entering the Federal Duck Stamp Contest in 1987. Along with his federal win, he has several state waterfowl stamps and two National Wild Turkey Federation stamps. Eddie enjoys baseball, history, hunting and fishing. He and his wife Misty have two sons who have both earned sport scholarships to attend college. The family lives in Eufaula near a national wildlife refuge.
