Young saguaro in buffelgrass

Buffelgrass (Cenchrus ciliaris) crowds out, outcompetes, and ultimately kills native plants. It also prevents young native plants from becoming established, and fuels fire behavior that is devastating to Sonoran Desert plants and animals including Saguaros (Carnegiea gigantea).
