Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery hosted the annual Hatchery Outdoor Adventure at the Norfork National Fish Hatchery on September 7, 2024. The weather was perfect and the event hosted almost 300 kids!

Norfork National Fish Hatchery has been raising mussels for several years. This year we have the opportunity to work with a new species, the Western Fanshell. This species is federally listed as threatened.

Norfork National Fish Hatchery, with help from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, tags and releases 12 of the big trout from the display raceway.

On April 22, 2023, Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery (MSNFH) didn’t just have a good day, it was a GREAT day! This was the day to enlighten people on the value of taking care of our planet as part of a global event that is celebrated by 193 countries around the world, called Earth Day.

The holidays are in full swing at Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery. Our Open House Event was successful and fun.

On September 24th the Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery held its annual Fishing Derby to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) stocked 288 endangered speckled pocketbook mussels (Lampsilis streckeri) in the upper South Fork tributary of Little Red River, Arkansas, May 12 and 13.
