Central Utah Interagency Fire Center (CUIF)

The Central Utah Interagency Fire Organization is comprised of the Richfield and Fillmore Field Offices of the Bureau of Land Management, the Southern Paiute Agency of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Fishlake National Forest, Capitol Reef National Park, and the Central Area of Utah Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands.

This is an area encompassing almost 12.3 million acres of federal, state, and private lands. Elevations range from 4,000 feet to 11,500 feet above sea level. Fuel types in the lower elevations primarily consist of cheat grass, sage brush, and pinion and juniper trees. In the higher elevations you will find oak brush, aspen, douglas and subalpine fir, and ponderosa pine.

Central Utah is dispatched by the Richfield Interagency Fire Center. When fully staffed for fire season there are 10 employees.

Partner Category

We often partner with non-governmental conservation organizations on conservation projects, whether it's to conserve identified species such as the monarch butterfly or to advise on land acquisition for conservation so that it has the greatest benefit for species.

We work with other federal agencies to help them meet their legal responsibilities as well as their mission.
