Friends of Prime Hook

The Friends of Prime Hook is a volunteer organization whose primary purpose is to assist the Refuge staff in many areas, such as public awareness, education and maintenance.

Some specific activities we undertake include:

- Operating the Friends Store

- Leading birding field trips

- Maintaining trails, bird houses and bird feeders

- Promoting the Refuge at public events

- Conduct in an annual nature photo contest

- Maintaining the gardens around the Refuge

The Friends of Prime Hook is a 501c3 organization.

We often partner with non-governmental conservation organizations on conservation projects, whether it's to conserve identified species such as the monarch butterfly or to advise on land acquisition for conservation so that it has the greatest benefit for species.

Those who experience the outdoors and wildlife first-hand become its greatest conservationists.  We partner with these groups to foster their love of wildlife and conservation.
