Press Release
Cibola National Wildlife Refuge Seeking Public Input For Update to Refuge Hunt Plan

Cibola National Wildlife Refuge intends to review and update its Refuge Hunt Plan, which was first created in 1975.  The need for the update is based on changing wildlife patterns, changes in hunter use of the Refuge, and to continue to clarify regulations.  The updated Refuge Hunt Plan is expected to improve the quality of hunting opportunities on the Refuge and ensure harvestable quantities of game species for future generations.

The public is invited to provide written comments to be considered during the drafting of the updated Plan.  Through this scoping process, the Refuge is seeking public input to facilitate identification of issues and concerns. Following the scoping period, a draft Refuge Hunt Plan will be developed.  Comments collected during the scoping period will be incorporated into the draft Plan to the extent practicable.  Once completed, the draft Plan will be provided to the public for further review and comment.

The public can view current hunting opportunities and regulations on the Refuge’s website at https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Cibola/visit/visitor_activities.html or request a current Refuge Hunt Brochure by calling 928-857-3253.

The public is encouraged to submit written comments to: Cibola National Wildlife Refuge,  Attn: Hunt Plan, 66600 Cibola Lake Rd, Cibola, Az.  85328. Or comments may be emailed   to Cibola_Comments@fws.gov.  Comments will be accepted until 3:30 pm on January 29, 2017.
