Home Ranch Water Distribution - Phase II
The Reese River is a tributary of the Humboldt River but in recent years has dwindled into a chain of shallow pools before it reaches the Humboldt River. A pipeline and troughs will be installed to provide water for livestock and wildlife in this steppe region where water is limited to distribute livestock grazing across the pastures and away from sensitive habitats. These additional water sources should lead to enhanced sagebrush and riparian habitats for wildlife.
