The 20 trails are open year-round, sunrise to sunset. Visitors are required to stay on designated paths and trails. No picking or disturbing wildlife or vegetation. Other than certified service animals, dogs are not allowed on the refuge. While visiting, please keep in mind the time of year and weather conditions and dress appropriately and plan accordingly. This includes bug repellant, sunscreen and hats in the warmer months, many layers in the cooler months, and always remember water, snacks and a cell phone. Hikers, please have winter etiquette while on trails and do not step on ski tracks; walkalong aside when available.
