Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge

This short spur connects the amphitheater to the Nature Trail.

The Arboretum Trail is a fully concrete and accessible trail winding around the Conservation Learning Center showcasing native trees and shrubs.

The Edgewater Trail is a more primitive trail but still has various stopping points making it customizable for any distance.  From the Boat Ramp parking lot to the Photo Blind and back is an almost perfect 5K distance and is popular with local runners.  While the trails are kept mowed during the summer, we highly recommend wearing bug spray and/or long pants.  Bring plenty of water no matter the season.  Some sections of the trail may be wet or hold water after rainfall.

The Prairie Trail is a fully concrete and accessible trail through a small demonstration prairie with native species of grass and flowers.

The Wildlife Challenge Trail is a perfect opportunities for kids to expend some energy while learning about wildlife!  Jump like a cougar, crawl like a bear, and hang like a bat on this short trail located in the boat ramp parking lot.

The Wildlife Pier is wheelchair and stroller accessible and offers access to wildlife viewing, photography, and other activities in Black Bayou Lake.
