Law Enforcement

Federal Wildlife Officers are professional law enforcement officers entrusted with protecting natural resources and public safety. Law enforcement is central to the effective management of fish and wildlife resources on national wildlife refuges. Federal Wildlife Officers investigate crimes occurring on National Wildlife Refuges and crimes involving federally protected species.

MIGRATORY BIRDS

The Division of Refuge Law Enforcement does not issue migratory bird permits. Please visit the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Migratory Bird Program if you are seeking a permit.

SICK OR INJURED WILDLIFE

The Division of Refuge Law Enforcement does not rehabilitate wildlife, nor should Blackwater NWR be considered a drop-off location for sick or injured wildlife.
