  • Aquatic Invasive Plants Environmental Assessment public review, March 7-April 6. Read more on our Newspage.
  • Temporary Closure: Capay Unit (Sacramento River NWR) parking area is currently blocked past the levee due to construction on County Road 23. The construction project should be completed by Friday, April 4.
  • We are hiring two Wildlife Firefighters. These are permanent, full-time position in Willows, CA. More info on our Get Involved page. Apply by April 8!

Welcome to Colusa National Wildlife Refuge!   

Colusa NWR offers a Visitor Area with a Restroom and Information Kiosk, Observation Deck, Observation Walkway, Auto Tour, Trail, Photography Blind (by reservation only), limited Bicycling and Hunting.  

There are LOTS of recreational opportunities on the other refuges of the Complex, including Visitor Areas, Auto Tours, trails, bicycling, photography, and hunting.

Colusa National Wildlife Refuge is managed as part of the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, with headquarters at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge Complex is comprised of 5 National Wildlife Refuges (Sacramento, Delevan, Colusa, Sutter and Sacramento River NWRs) and 3 Wildlife Management Areas (Willow Creek-Lurline, Butte Sink and Steve Thompson North Central Valley WMAs).
