While walking one of the Refuge hiking trails, bring you camera and binoculars for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities during each season. Late winter and early spring bring out many wildflowers. Deer, bear, and occasional panther tracks can be found along the 1.3 mile outer loop trail. Don't forget to look up to catch a glimpse of a red-shoulder hawk or swallow-tailed kite. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to observe active wildlife.
