Laws and Regulations
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has a role in managing wildlife and habitat resources for all citizens to ensure their long-term sustainability. We are responsible for implementing some of the Nation’s most important environmental laws, such as the National Wildlife Refuge System Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act, Lacey Act, North American Wetlands Conservation Act, as well as other laws and regulations, to protect wildlife and habitats to achieve these conservation efforts.
