The refuge offers a trail map and self-guided walk on Morris Island. Erosion has re-routed this trail, which you can see on the map below. Find informative panels alongside the path and learn from the brochure as you traverse the Morris Island Trail. In the summer months when staffing allows, there are guided hiking tours around the trail loop. 

During the tourist season, local boat operators with special use permits are able to transport hikers and wildlife observers to Monomoy’s Wilderness Islands. The visitor will experience the solitude of wilderness through varied habitats of ocean beach, windswept sand dunes, salt marsh salt marsh
Salt marshes are found in tidal areas near the coast, where freshwater mixes with saltwater.
