Waterfowl (duck, goose and coot) hunting is permitted on approximately 3,080 acres as hunting access, habitats and conditions permit, and in accordance with specific Massachusetts regulations. A state hunting permit is required. A special-use permit (and associated fee) is required for all commercial hunting guides. Bag limits are in accordance with state of Massachusetts regulations. The use of dogs is permitted for retrieving game. Refuge waterfowl hunting is permitted in open water areas only, to the west of South Monomoy Island within Nantucket Sound. Hunting is prohibited throughout upland areas.
