Refuge waters include Bluff Lake (800 acres), Loakfoma Lake (450 acres), Ross Branch Reservoir (40 acres) and Noxubee River. Fishing and Boating is allowed on Refuge waters from March 1-October 31; Noxubee River is open year-round as well as limited bank fishing on Bluff Lake (see brochure.) Available species include largemouth bass, redear, sunfish, crappie and catfish. To fish on the refuge anyone aged 16 to 64 must purchase a Hunting and Fishing permit. This permit may be purchased from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks online or at any outlet that sells hunting or fishing licenses. The permit is listed as the "North MS NWR Permit" or #606 and acts as an add-on to a license.
