Law Enforcement

Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is actively patrolled by Federal Wildlife Officers whose priority enforcement activities take place on National Wildlife Refuge System lands and waters.   In addition Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks Officers are often patrolling as well.  ALL federal, state, and local laws and regulations are applicable on Refuge System lands and waters.  Some of the laws specific to the National Wildlife Refuge System, as well as specific refuges can be found in the Title 50 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations. The refuge is open daily to visitors from dawn until dusk. Pets are allowed, but required to be on a leash for their safety, as well as the resident wildlife.  The Refuge is open for nature photography, wildlife observation, hunting, fishing, environmental education and interpretation.
