Overview
Amargosa niterwort is a small, perennial herbaceous plant in the goosefoot family. It was listed as endangered in 1985 due to habitat loss from changes in groundwater availability, off-highway vehicle use, trampling by wild horses, surface mining and raised construction of Ash Meadows Road. Since listing, positive management actions by the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and Bureau of Land Management have significantly lessened the impacts of trampling and off-highway vehicle use on the species.
