Overview
Isodendrion longifolium, a member of the Violaceae (violet) family, is a slender, straight shrub 0.6 to 2 m (2 to 7 ft) tall. The hairless, somewhat leathery leaves are lance-shaped, 10 to 30 cm (4 to 12 in) long, and 3.4 to 6.5 cm(1 to 3 in) wide. The fragrant flowers are perfect and are borne singly along the branches. The five petals are purple, clawed, and somewhat unequal. The purple capsular fruit is 10 mm (0.4 in) long.
