Overview
Langfords tree snail (Partula langfordi; akaleha, denden), in the Partulidae family, is endemic to the forest ecosystem of the island of Aguiguan. Langfords tree snail has a dextral (to the right or clockwise from the opening of the shell at the lower right, as opposed to sinistral, to the left, or counterclockwise) shell, described by Kondo (1970, pp. 7577) as being ovate- conic and moderately thin. The holotype of this species has a length of 0.6 in (14 mm), a diameter of 0.4 in (9 mm), and an aperture length of 0.3 in (8 mm). It has a spire of five whorls that are slightly convex, with an obtuse apex. Its aperture is oblong-ovate with the white mouth projections thickened and expanded. It is buff colored superimposed by maroon.
