Overview
Cyanea mauiensis, a member of the Campanulaceae (bellflower) family, is a branching shrub. Features specific to this species (separate from those of C. grimesiana) include: a bell-shaped structure formed by fusion of the calyx, corolla and stamens rounded or truncate at the base, a corolla 7.5 to 12 times longer than this structure with lobes as long as the tube or longer, and dorsal anthers 15 to16 mm (0.59 to 0.62 in) long.
