Labordia helleri, a member of the Loganiaceae (logan) family, is a shrub 2 to 4.5 m (6.6 to 15 ft) tall, sometimes climbing, with cylindrical and glabrous (free from hair) stems. Leaves are membranous, oblanceolate (having a rounded apex and tapering base) to elliptic, 5 to 14 cm (2 to 5.5 in) long, 1.7 to 4 cm (0.7 to 1.6 in) wide, with the upper surface veins scarcely impressed, and both surfaces glabrous. Flowers are three to nine or more, in pendulous or erect, compound, paniculate cymes (an inflorescence in which the first flower is the terminal bud of the main stem and subsequent flowers develop as terminal buds of lateral stems). The corolla is white or pale greenish yellow, 9 to 11 mm (0.35 to 0.4 in) long, with a narrowly urn-shaped tube. Capsules are whitish green, lanceoloid to ovoid, and 9 to 20 mm (0.35 to 0.8 in) long.
