The vines can reach up to 10 m (33 ft) long, but are usually 3 to 6 m (10 to 20 ft) in length. Schiedea diffusa subsp. diffusa has spreading (diffuse) inflorescences that reach 10 to 50 cm (4 to 20 in) in length and contain around 20 to 90 flowers. The flowers are hermaphroditic and chasmogamous (open) with a broad and flat nectary. The seeds of this species are 1 mm (0.04 in).
