About Emily Pherigo

A native Missourian, Emily’s interest in nature is rooted in the summers spent camping and canoeing with family.  She is a graduate of Knox College (BA) and the University of Missouri (MS) and her work experience includes time with government and non-profit organizations. Following her service as an AmeriCorps member, Emily worked for US Forest Service, National Park Service, and US Geological Survey. Emily was previously a biologist with the USFWS - Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office in Columbia, Missouri, since 2015 primarily working on invasive carp in the Mississippi River Basin. In addition to her field experience on the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois rivers addressing invasive carp management and control, she is a supervisor and coordinator for the Missouri River Basin Invasive Carp Partnership. Emily values a team approach to conservation and is looking forward to continuing her FWS career working with partners to address natural resource challenges, protect endangered species, and restore imperiled landscapes.
