About Josh Hundley

My work involves conducting environmental reviews for projects associated with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and locating and evaluating potential aquatic habitat restoration sites primarily related to the Lower Osage River Protection and Enhancement Plan(LORPEP) and the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration Program(NRDAR). I also assist with damage assessments and restoration activities in the Southeast Missouri Lead Mining District and Tri-State Mining District in southwest Missouri, southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma. I am also a member of the USFWS Region 3 SCUBA dive team, and conduct freshwater mussel and aquatic organism surveys.

Quantitative Survey of Freshwater Mussels (Unionoidea) and Assessment of Sediment Contamination in the Big River, Missouri

The relationship between freshwater mussel density and heavy metal concentrations in river sediments was investigated in the Big River downstream of areas with past mineral mining. Quantitative mussel surveys were conducted and river sediments were analyzed for grain size and concentrations of...

An Assessment of Freshwater Mussel (Bivalvia: Margaritiferidae and Unionidae) Populations and Heavy Metal Sediment Contamination in the Big River, Missouri

This assessment was conducted in the lead mining-impacted Big River basin of Missouri to: 1) determine the downstream extent of heavy metal contamination of sediment; 2) determine distribution, diversity, and abundance of freshwater mussel species; and 3) evaluate the relationship between heavy...
