About Julie Hana
Hello, I'm a California native and enjoy the mild weather here. My two furry kids and I enjoy exploring new trails in California and Nevada. To a lesser degree, I’m also interested in completing home improvement projects. I started my career in conservation biology 2007, with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife in Stockton as a Scientific Aid. While surveying and monitoring for native fishes throughout the Central Valley. My work with T&E species, such as salmonids and green sturgeon continued in Sacramento, as I expanded my career while working on regulatory permitting as a Natural Resource Management Specialists for NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service. I’ve also worked for Sacramento FWO, Ecological Services, as I completed Fish & Wildlife Coordination Act reports and ESA Section 7 Section 7
Section 7 Consultation
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) directs all Federal agencies to work to conserve endangered and threatened species and to use their authorities to further the purposes of the Act. Section 7 of the Act, called "Interagency Cooperation," is the mechanism by which Federal agencies ensure the actions they take, including those they fund or authorize, do not jeopardize the existence of any listed species.

Furthering my career in biological conservation and environmental compliance, in 2019, I accepted a position with FWS’ Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration (WSFR) Program, Region 8. In my current role as a Grants Management Specialist under the WSFR Program, I manage numerous habitat restoration and angling improvement grants under the National Coastal Wetland Conservation; Sport Fish Restoration; and Clean Vessel Act programs.
