About Mary Elder

Mary joined the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 2018. She moved to Albuquerque from Washington, DC, where she was dual-hatted as Chief Learning Officer and Director of Safety for the National Cemetery Administration in the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Prior, she served in Federal leadership and communications roles at the USDA Forest Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, US Coast Guard and US Navy. Mary holds masters' degrees in agriculture and national security studies and is a proud Navy Veteran.
