Patric is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist staff member in the Alabama Ecological Services Field Office (ALFO) since 1995. He was initially a field research tech term, then was made permanent doing Corps wetland permitting, Section 7 Section 7
Section 7 Consultation
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) directs all Federal agencies to work to conserve endangered and threatened species and to use their authorities to further the purposes of the Act. Section 7 of the Act, called "Interagency Cooperation," is the mechanism by which Federal agencies ensure the actions they take, including those they fund or authorize, do not jeopardize the existence of any listed species.

In 2010 he stood up the new Northern Gulf Coastal Program which covers Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. As such, he relocated to a sub-office at the Grand Bay NWR/NERR in Mississippi. He is also the Alabama Restoration Biologist for the Service's Gulf Restoration Program and the Alabama State Liaison between the Coastal and Partners for Fish and Wildlife Programs. He provides Coastal Program funding for coastal restoration, including marsh creation; prescribed burning; trail construction; education and outreach; invasives removal; stream restoration; management plans; internships on Refuges; surveys, protection, research and propagation of listed species; and living shorelines creation, research and development of an assistance program for private property owners. Under the Gulf Restoration Program, he collaborates with a variety of federal, state, and NGO partners on Gulf-wide concerns and remedies.
