Whoooo Brought the Wintery Weather?
First a Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) shows up on Pea Island Refuge during a warm January week. The next thing you know, wintery weather is forecast and winter storms appear. Coincidence? The top Snowy Owl was photographed on Pea Island Refuge a year ago. The bottom photo shows a snowy owl that has been sighted on the refuge this year.
