Swamp Rose Mallow
Swamp rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos) is a native wetland wildflower that is blooming on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. The trumpet-shaped flowers are visited by a variety of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The seeds are eaten by many species of songbirds. Butterflies and moths use it as a larval host plant.
