Ohio Man Sentenced to One Year in Prison for Wildlife Crime
With Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife officers, OLE agents discovered that Nathanal L. Knox defrauded at least 68 different individuals who were trying to arrange for legal hunts. Court documents revealed that he placed online advertisements for hunting leases, supposedly available on several parcels of land in Ohio, but in fact, the defendant had no rights to sell leases for those properties. In total, 59 of the 68 individuals sent initial payments to the defendant, totaling more than $34,000. He was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $18,037 in restitution.
