Wolf Creek NFH is committed to getting people outdoors, even if that means bringing the outdoors to them!
For the first time in 2022, Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery transported 25 Rainbow trout to local nursing homes where residents could try their luck at catching a fish! The event was a hit and requested by many of the residents to become a yearly occasion; so Wolf Creek NFH did just that! Staff from the hatchery unloaded the fish in a large tank set up just outside the facility and equipped each resident with a fishing pole complete with hooks, sinkers, bobbers, and bait! Many of the residents jumped at the chance to catch a fish while others simply enjoyed the being in the outdoors while watching others fish. Fun was had by all and staff at Wolf Creek NFH look forward to hosting the Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation fishing event in June!
