150 Russell County summer school students visited the hatchery to celebrate the annual "Longest Day of Play" event. This event corresponds with the Summer Solstice and encourages kids to get outdoors and be active.
The Russell County Health and Wellness Coalition sponsored the event, with many businesses and organizations joining in to make the it a success! Some members of the coalition volunteered and helped at various stations while others donated items for a "goodie bag" filled with outdoor toys, activities, snacks, etc. Each student that attended received one of these bags.
Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery is proud to be a part of the Russell County Health and Wellness Coalition-an organization that works together to support the community in many different ways.
