Indigo Bunting
BAM! That's the sensation you feel when your eyes spot an indigo bunting (Passerina cyanea). Indigo buntings feed on all physical levels of food sources. They eat seeds and berries on the ground and at shrub height. And they eat a wide variety of insects, such as grasshoppers, caterpillars and beetles. Besides being found on the ground these insects might be found at the mid-level of food sources all the way up to the top levels of trees. Wherever they're feeding, indigo buntings add a colorful blast of blue to the refuge.
