Fly Fishing 101 Workshop
Seventeen beginner fly fisherman enjoyed a full day of instruction and fishing at the Fly Fishing 101 workshop! Beginning with classroom instruction for the morning session, the attendees learned the basics of fly fishing including gear, tying knots, setting up their rods, casting methods, and even some history and literature! After lunch, the anglers put their new skills to use on Hatchery Creek where several caught their first fish on a fly rod.
Thanks to the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Inc. for helping facilitate this event and to Bill Carman for leading the workshop!
