Long-billed Dowitcher
Long-billed Dowitchers (Limnodromus scolopaceus) is a shorebird that uses their lengthy bills to probe deeply into sand and mud searching for invertebrates to eat. They have tactile receptors at the tip of their bill that allow them to locate their meals by touch. They also consume insects and bivalves. And sometimes they feed on the seeds of a variety of grasses and plants.
