Mexican spotted owl
The 2024 training will be offered April 9th and 10th, 2024 in Moab, Utah. April 9 (12:30 to 10:00 pm) will consist of a classroom session and field visit with nighttime calling. April 10 (8:00 am to 12:00 pm) includes a morning habitat walk and wrap up discussion. Please visit the Mexican spotted owl species page to learn more and register. Uinta Basin and Central Utah Rare Plants
A live training will not be offered this year. We ask that you please watch the recorded webinar from 2023 and attend a live Question and Answer session March 29th at 11am MDT. Southwestern Willow Flycatcher
The Southwestern willow flycatcher Survey Protocol training will be offered in person on May 30th and 31st at the UDWR Washington County Offices in Hurricane, Utah. Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Registration is now open for the Western yellow-billed cuckoo survey protocol training workshop in western Colorado on June 24-25, 2024. The class and field sessions will be hosted in Hotchkiss, Colorado. This year's workshop leader will be Dr. Murrelet Halterman, avian ecologist and lead author of the survey protocol. Utah prairie dog
Dates: June 3rd and June 4th 2024. Monday 6/3 will be an in-person, all-day classroom session held in Cedar City, Utah at Festival Hall. Tuesday 6/4 will be an all-day field day in the surrounding habitat areas within the range of the species.
