2024 Kentucky Junior Duck Stamp Contest

Environmental Education/Outreach Specialists Marsha Hart and Makenzie Foster traveled to Audubon State Park in Henderson, KY to participate in the 2024 Kentucky Junior Duck Stamp contest. 5 judges viewed and voted on 992 pieces of art, dwindling the finalists each round before selecting 12 first place winners including the 2024 Best in Show; A lesser scaup drawn by 15 year old Paul VanLaningham. The judges also voted on various conservation messages submitted by students. The conservation message "Conserve today for a better habitat, conserve tomorrow for a better world" by student Heath Travis was chosen as the 2024 winner. Both of these submissions will go on to compete in the national contest.
