The Hatchery Outdoor Adventure is an annual event held at the Norfork National Fish Hatchery. This event brings many organizations and groups together to teach kids outdoor activities, share knowledge about the natural world around them, and of course have fun! The Hatchery Outdoor Adventure is great for getting youth involved in the outdoors in a world that has largely become technological. We want the public to know there is a plethora of interesting things to get involved in outdoors. Fishing and hunting are of course very popular, but studying and understanding the intricate rolls all species play in nature can be awe inspiring. We hope to provide the kids and adults who attend an enjoyable experience and a newfound interest in the outdoors. The 2024 Hatchery Outdoor Adventure was held on September 7 and hosted 297 children along with 262 adults! There were 24 different outdoor related stations this year. Several local organizations and government agencies joined us this year. We greatly appreciate the help and the selflessness they showed by giving up their Saturday to be a part of the event.. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we definitely look forward to next year’s Hatchery Outdoor Adventure.
