Final Compatibility Determination for Turkey Hunting
The Compatibility Determination (CD) for turkey hunting at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge has been finalized in conjunction with the 2024-25 Station-Specific Hunting and Fishing Final Rule. We have expanded the area of the Refuge open to turkey hunting from 1,883 acres to 2,213 acres. Thank you to those who provided comments on the Draft CD.
We continue to offer turkey hunting four days per week during the State’s fall season (September 1 - December 31). We require the use of non-toxic shot for turkey hunting. Turkey hunting is by advance reservation only. WDFW manages reservations under their Hunting By Reservation Only program. In the Long Lake Unit, up to two hunting parties of up to four hunters per party are allowed to hunt per two-day hunt period, while one party per two-day hunt period is allowed in the new Helms Unit.
