Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery and the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Inc. participated in the Russell Springs Christmas parade on Saturday, November 30.
Staff and volunteers worked to come up with a plan to go along with this year's theme "Winter Wonderland". The distribution truck was decorated with an igloo, snow, and gear for ice fishing! Trout lights mimicked fish in the water, while snowflake lights and cutouts were used to create a winter wonderland. Scout the Trout rode on the truck and threw out fish shaped candies to kids and adults alike that were braving the cold temperatures to enjoy the event.
Events such as this provide an opportunity for Wolf Creek NFH to be a strong, visible community partner and is a great outreach event as well.
